Once again, Christopher Moore fails to disappoint. Set again in the little town of Pine Cove (which you’ll remember from his first book, Practical Demonkeeping), Christopher Moore once again brings us a supernatural comedy that made me laugh at least every other page, if not on every page, in The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove.
He’s like a funny Stephen King, but a better writer. Moore obviously did his research on people with various mental disorders, and what would happen to them if they suddenly had their meds switched with placebos.? Combine that with an ancient amphibian with telepathic powers, a Bluesman, the local lawman who’s perpetually stoned, a biologist and his black lab, a has-been movie starlet, a SWAT team, and a host of other characters, and you have yet another hilarious read which will certainly not disappoint. Highly recommended.
